Ok, I'll be the first to admit that the 1024 x 600 screen on my EEE 1000H is a tad small. However, there are some ways you can get better value for your screen real estate in the Firefox browser, which I assume many of you use.

Before I tell you the addons I've used, let me show you a before and after

How to block Ad in Opera browser

Question:

I had a quick search on the forum and couldn't find what I was looking for.
I know the latest Opera has some form of adblocking built into it but it's kind of pitiful in comparison to the adblock plus add-on for firefox.
I would use firefox but Opera seems to run a lot faster for me.

After much hair-pulling I've managed to get firefox 3 and thunderbird to play nice in intrepid when it comes to 'clicky' rss feed subscriptions. Some of the other solutions didn't work as thunderbird couldn't validate any feed that didn't start with http:// (ie: feed://) .. so here's a quick fix...

sudo nano /usr/local/bin/thunderbird-add-feed.sh

Firefox Window border is missing

Question:

This seems to only be a problem in Firefox, but there is no window border. I cannot resize or move the window. It just occupies the entire screen, with no border on top. The window spans the full screen, so there is no gnome menus, which I usually have on the top and bottom of my screen. Please help. Thanks.

Mozilla Labs is offering a "Milestone 8" Linux release of the long-awaited mobile version of its Firefox web browser. The "Fennec" browser will be released in final form in a few weeks, sporting iPhone-like "kinetic" scrolling, a Mac-like "expose" feature for tabs, and optional geolocation.

Question:

hi i use to be able to just clickthe regular address bar and google would take over but now its set as my ISP search engine i guess. in the address bar where i could type in www.gnome-look.org i would put in gnome look and it would automatically take me to www.gnome-look.org and if the keyword was too general it would just send me to google with a list of links... but now when i type in gnome look in address bar i get a webpage with my ISP's logo on it with searching options similiar to google...how can i set it back to having google do the work.
